Hello! My name is Amanda Coveney, I work for Skinbrands as their Managing Director. I have always loved the beauty industry and feel very privileged to work in an industry that is a personal passion of mine. I am lucky to have a wonderful, motivated and strong team around me, having the right people makes the journey to success far more rewarding. Most people that I know personally have been in the industry for as long as myself and everyone is very supportive of one another, it’s a wonderful support network. The industry has changed dramatically, particularly from a digital perspective. Customers are far more ingredient savvy and want results driven products, with such consistent and ongoing access to social media and experts it’s a very exciting time. The professional market continues to grow and works hand in hand with retail, there are many opportunities but in my opinion digital experience is now key in order to work across all channels. My skincare advice? Always take your make up off before bed, no matter how tired you are and always take your moisturiser down to your neck. Wear a sunscreen every day even if it’s cloudy. You also can’t beat a great eye cream, its key. Copra is very important to me. It is a fabulous organisation and supports the wonderful Look Good Feel Better charity which is very close to my heart having had my Mother battle cancer twice herself. I also think it’s great that you feel very supported as a retailer and the networking opportunities remain still as great as ever.
